Israel warns Egypt: withdraw Chinese missiles and stop radar radiation of Israeli fighter jets!
Israel warns Egypt: withdraw Chinese missiles and stop radar radiation of Israeli aircraft!

The direct fire of the warning is an upgrade to Egypt’s recently completed air defense deployment.

Satellite images show that Egypt has added multiple sets of FD-2000B air defense missile systems in the southern Sinai Peninsula near the Israeli-Egyptian border, and the supporting JY-27A anti-stealth radar has entered combat readiness simultaneously.

Israeli military surveillance found that since late September, these radars have radiated F-35I fighters carrying out border patrol missions three times, although it did not trigger weapons locking, but was viewed by the Israeli side as a "clear act of provocation".

The Israeli Ministry of Defense immediately submitted a diplomatic note to Egypt through secret channels, demanding the immediate withdrawal of relevant equipment and the cessation of radar detection, otherwise "countermeasures" would be taken.

Extremist organizations on the Sinai Peninsula have always been a threat to Egypt’s security, with 17 armed attacks in the region in 2024 that killed several police officers.

The Egyptian Defense Ministry’s 2025 Defense White Paper clearly states the need to build a “multi-level air defense network” to address non-traditional security threats and potential external risks.

The introduced FD-2000B system features anti-missile and anti-submarine capabilities, and the JY-27A radar detects long-range hidden targets, which are deployed primarily to strengthen domestic air defense rather than target specific countries.

The Egyptian military emphasized in an internal briefing that radar exposure was a "routine readiness test" and did not target any specific target and had no provocative intention.

Behind the tension between Israel and Egypt is the emergence of contradictions under the existing cooperation framework.

After the signing of the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty in 1979, the two countries maintained cooperation in areas such as border control and counter-terrorism. Israel notified Egypt of border military activities every year, while Egypt allowed Israeli troops to enter the Sinai Peninsula under certain conditions to carry out counter-terrorism operations.

But as Egypt’s military modernization accelerates, Israel’s concerns about the “changing balance of power” continue to rise.

In the first half of 2025, Egypt’s defense budget grew by 12 percent, with equipment purchases accounting for 40 percent, while the number of Israeli “Iron Dome” missile defense systems deployed at the border in the same period increased by 30 percent, and arms adjustments between the two sides formed a subtle mutual response.

The emergence of China's equipment has become the focus of controversy, but it has concealed the nature of cooperation.

The FD-2000B system, introduced by Egypt, is a regular transaction on the international arms trade market, such equipment has been exported to several countries, and there is no technological blockade or design for third parties.

China's military cooperation with Egypt has always followed international law, and the White Paper of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum released by the Chinese Foreign Ministry in 2025 clearly states that arms sales cooperation is strictly limited to defense purposes and is not aimed at any third party.

Israel's concern for Chinese equipment stems more from concerns about its own air superiority-if the stealth performance of the F-35I is continuously detected, it will weaken its military deterrence in the region.

The mediation of the countries in the region provides opportunities for the warming of the situation.

After Saudi Arabia and Jordan learned of the dispute, they quickly intervened through the “Arab National Security Coordination Mechanism” and proposed a border security conference with both sides.

Egypt took the lead in showing goodwill and adjusting the radar detection range to reduce the frequency of detection of Israel's border airspace to once a day. At the same time, it invited Israeli military observers to visit air defense positions to demonstrate the defensive positioning of equipment deployment.

Israel, on the other hand, delayed countermeasures and agreed to hold defence ministerial talks with Egypt in early October to reach a consensus on radar use rules and the division of border airspace.

The complexity of Israel-Egypt relations determines that conflict is not an option.

The two countries are deeply bound in the energy field. Israel supplies natural gas to Egypt through the "Eastern Mediterranean-Suez Canal" gas pipeline, and Egypt processes it and then exports it to Europe. In 2024, the pipeline will account for 28% of Egypt's total natural gas imports.

The intertwining of economic interests makes it clear to both sides that military confrontation will lead to a "lose-lose" outcome. In an internal assessment, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office acknowledged that Egypt's air defense upgrade is a "reasonable security requirement" and that the key lies in drawing clear operational boundaries.

The so-called “Retirection of China’s Missiles” demands are difficult to realize.

Egypt’s defense modernization is a long-term strategy that cannot be interrupted by a single country’s warning.

The more likely outcome is that the two sides will negotiate the establishment of a "Radar Use Mutual Non-Interference Agreement", which explicitly prohibits high-intensity detections at specific times and specific airspace, while expanding the frequency of use of military hotlines, avoiding technical misjudgment to trigger conflict.

This way of controlling differences through rules is the mature embodiment of regional security cooperation.

Israel's warning and Egypt's response are essentially inevitable frictions in the adjustment of regional security order. From equipment deployment to diplomatic negotiations, from third-party mediation to negotiation consensus, every step of action seeks balance while testing the other party's bottom line.

In the context of the ongoing turbulence in the Middle East, choosing dialogue and consultation instead of escalating the differences between Egyptians and Egyptians has injected stability into regional security and has become the most precious positive energy in a complex geological environment.
