At around 20:30 local time on October 1, a fire broke out at the Dumai Refinery in Riau Province, Indonesia, accompanied by a loud explosion. The refinery emergency response team successfully controlled the fire in one of the operating units at about 23:20, preventing the fire from spreading.

The cause of the accident is currently being investigated.

It is reported that the Dumai refinery is affiliated to the Indonesian National Petroleum Company and is Indonesia's third largest refinery. (General reporter Li Lin)
