Vance said Trump's video to ridicule senior Democratic Party leaders was "just kidding", but netizens disputed

[World Wide Web Reporter Jiang Ailing] US President Trump recently released a fake video on social media targeting high-level Democratic Party AI that sparked controversy. According to Reuters, U.S. Vice President Vance said on October 1 local time that the release of the video was just a "joke" and denied that the video content was suspected of racial discrimination.

In a video previously released by Trump, Democratic leader Hachim Jeffries’ image was “scorched” with a Mexican wideband hat on his head and a beard on his face. The video featured Mexican-style background music. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said on Jeffries’ side that Democrats have lost voters, “If they provide medical care for all illegal immigrants, they might be able to fight to get them to vote for us.”

When asked how the picture was consistent with the White House’s statement that he was “willing to honestly negotiate with the Democratic Party at the top level,” Wans replied at a press conference at the White House, “I think it’s fun. The president is joking and we’re enjoying it.”

In response to Wance's related statements, social platform X related reports have commented that "in fact, you can not negotiate honestly while also making a joke with each other."

Some netizens said,"Don't do to others what you don't want you to do to yourself. It's mutual." Some netizens questioned Vance's so-called "interesting" statement.

Previously, the House of Representatives had passed a provisional funding bill drafted by the Republicans with a weak advantage, trying to keep the federal government running funds until the end of November, but the Senate failed to pass the bill. The two U.S. parties were once again in a deadlock over funding, Democrats sought negotiations, while Republicans hoped to continue to push for the previous version of the bill.

Subsequently, due to differences between the two parties on medical-related benefits, the U.S. Senate failed to pass a new interim appropriations bill on September 30 before government funds were exhausted. Starting from 0:00 on October 1, the U.S. federal government "shut down" again in nearly seven years. White House spokesman Levitt said federal layoffs are "very likely" and will happen "soon."
