U.S. Senate once again vetoes temporary appropriation bill, government shutdown continues

On the morning of October 1, local time, the U.S. Senate voted on the temporary appropriation bill proposed by the Democratic Party. In the end, with 47 votes in favor and 53 votes against, it once again failed to promote the implementation of the bill.

Subsequently, the Senate voted on the provisional appropriations bill proposed by the Republican Party to extend federal government funding until the end of November. It is reported that this bill was passed by the House of Representatives on the evening of September 30th, and won the support of many Democratic lawmakers during the voting process.

However, the Republican-proposed bill received 55 votes in favour as a result of Democratic insistence on health care demands and failed to reach the required 60 votes to pass, crushing hopes of a swift end to the federal government’s “stagnation.”

On September 30, the Senate failed to pass a new provisional allocation bill before the federal government’s funds were exhausted.Federal government time has been “stop” for seven years since zero on October 1st, U.S. Eastern Time. This means that, in addition to providing “necessary services” government employees, an estimated 750,000 federal employees will be “called off”, some public services may be suspended or delayed, and the release of economic data will also be affected.
