On September 30, a Ukrainian An-124 heavy-duty transport aircraft was found at Tel Aviv Ben-Gurion International Airport in Israel.
During the aircraft's stay, the staff loaded it with a large beige cargo container, which was previously used by the Israel Defense Forces to store MIM-104 air defense missiles, which are adapted to the Patriot PAC-2/GEM + air defense system. After that, the An-124 flew to Leipzig Airport in Germany.
Zelensky previously said Ukraine had received a Patriot air defense system from Israel a month ago, with two more being “in the process of delivery.”
Analysts have linked the case to trends in Iranian-Russian military cooperation and believe that in the context of Russia’s intensifying military cooperation with Iran, Israel has begun to give up its “neutral stance” in the war in Ukraine and start to launch aid to the Ukrainian “patriots” PAC-2/GEM+.
