Colombian President: I don't want to break with U.S. diplomacy, but I don't give up

On October 1st, local time, Colombian President Petro forwarded a report on the revision of the free trade agreement with the United States on social media and said that Colombia did not want diplomacy with the United States to break down. Colombia was open to the world, but did not give in.

At a ministerial meeting on September 29, Petro strongly criticized U.S. President Trump’s stance on the Gaza issue, saying that he “acts as a helper to genocide.” and announced that he would amend the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States and terminate the trade agreement with Israel. Petro believes the terms of the Free Trade Agreement with the United States are outdated, and he proposed reforms to include environmental norms, such as tariffs on vehicles that emit carbon dioxide, etc.
