US private sector cuts 3,2 thousand jobs in September

The data released by the American Automated Data Processing Company (ADP) on October 1 showed that in September this year, the private sector in the United States reduced 3,2 thousand jobs, the biggest decline since March 2023, far below the market expectation of an increase of about 50 thousand jobs.

The U.S. Department of Labor was originally scheduled to release its September non-agricultural sector employment report on October 3. However, due to the federal government's "shutdown", the Department of Labor stated in its emergency plan that the Bureau of Labor Statistics would suspend all work during the interruption of federal funding. Unlike data released by automated data processing companies, the Bureau of Labor Statistics 'non-farm payrolls data includes government jobs.

Some economic analysts predict that if the U.S. labor market continues to weaken, the U.S. Federal Reserve may announce interest rate cuts again in October.
