On October 1, local time, the German government adopted an action plan called "Germany Towards a Nuclear Fusion Power Station" at a federal cabinet meeting in Berlin, trying to build the world's first nuclear fusion power station in Germany. According to the action plan, by 2029, Germany will invest more than 2 billion euros in this field to fund related research and support the construction of research infrastructure and technology demonstration devices.
In a statement, German Federal Minister for Research, Technology and Space, Dorothy Bell, said: “The recent years have made us aware of the challenges facing energy supply. Energy is the cornerstone of competitiveness, value creation and national sovereignty. Our future energy must be safe, environmentally friendly, climate-friendly and affordable for all. Nuclear fusion technology is expected to contribute to this vision. With the ‘Nuclear Fusion Action Plan’, we are paving the way for the world’s first nuclear fusion power plant to be built in Germany.”
