On the morning of October 1, local time, the U.S. Senate voted on the temporary appropriation bill proposed by the Democratic Party. In the end, with 47 votes in favor and 53 votes against, it once again failed to promote the implementation of the bill.
Subsequently, the Senate launched a new round of voting on the short-term appropriation bill proposed by the Republican Party. It is reported that this bill was passed by the House of Representatives on the evening of September 30th, and won the support of many Democratic lawmakers during the voting process.
However, due to the Democratic Party's insistence on health care requirements, the Senate failed to pass a short-term funding bill proposed by the Republican Party, and the issue of the U.S. government shutdown remains unresolved. (CCTV reporter Wu Hanying)
