On October 1, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled.Temporarily maintain the position of Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, and scheduled oral arguments in the case for January 2026. The ruling means that before the judges hear the debate on the case in January next year,Cook can remain in office. Trump previously accused Cook of mortgage fraud on the grounds that he declared two houses as "main residences" in Michigan and Georgia at the same time, and dismissed Cook on August 25th on the grounds of mortgage fraud. Cook denied the allegations and said that the lawsuit was an excuse for Trump to control the Federal Reserve and suppress independence. A federal district court judge in Washington, D.C. ruled on September 9 to suspend the dismissal decision. On September 18th, the U.S. government asked the U.S. Supreme Court to allow President Trump to fire Cook.
