South African ambassador to France dies in Paris, South African president mourns: deeply saddened

According to U.S. cable news network (CNN) and other media reports, for the death of South African Ambassador to France Emmanuel Mutanteva in France, South African President Ramaphosa sent a message on September 30 local time.

Ramaphosa posted on social media that day that it was deeply sad that the South African government and the people stood together with the family of Ramaphosa. Ramaphosa also said that Ramaphosa contributed to deepening the relationship between South Africa and France, bringing benefits to the companies of the two countries and promoting cooperation on the global stage.

The Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa issued a statement on September 30, 2025, confirming the news of the death of M.T.V. in France and expressing deep condolences.

According to British Sky News Network and other media reports on September 30, M.T. was found dead on the bottom floor of a hotel in Paris. According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, M.T.T. has booked a room on the 22nd floor and a security window in the room has been opened.
