Israeli government approves appointment of David Zinney as director of Simbet

On the evening of September 30, local time, according to a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, the Israeli government unanimously approved the appointment of David Zini as the director of the Israeli National Security Service (Shin Bet) for a five-year term.

Zini will officially take office on October 5 local time. He has served in numerous combat and command positions in the Israel Defense Forces.

In May this year, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to appoint David Zini as the next director of Shin Bet. In September, Israel's Senior Appointment Advisory Council approved Zini's candidacy. (Headquarters reporter Mi Chunze)
