Breaking-News >> WorldNews China's Embassy in Mexico: Express strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition to U.S. Embassy in Mexico
A few days ago, Mark Johnson, Chargé d'affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, made a speech at the Mexico-U.S. Semiconductor Forum, claiming that "the United States will not tolerate dependence on China in key technology fields such as semiconductors" and that "the United States needs Mexico to play a key role in this regard." This kind of remark nakedly exposes the mentality of the United States imposing geopolitical competition on others, and China expresses strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition to this. The essence of the so-called "intolerance of dependence" is naked trade barriers, trade threats and trade bullying. The United States is not concerned about Mexico's development needs, but wants Mexico to serve as its geopolitical tool on industrial and supply chain issues. In fact, the United States fears fair competition and refuses win-win cooperation. Once they discover that other countries have made progress in key industries, they rush to label them as "dependent" and resort to threats, and try to use intimidation and pressure to maintain their monopoly position. This practice not only undermines the international economic and trade order, but also harms the interests of countries in the global South, including Mexico, and ultimately backfires the credibility of the United States itself. China has always advocated the construction of an equal and orderly world multipolarization, promoting a universal and inclusive economic globalization, flag clearly against trade barriers and economic and trade coercion. The U.S. obstacle is but the arm as a car, will ultimately be in vain. We urge the individual U.S. officials to abandon the zero-sum game thinking, respect the world trade order and normal cooperation between countries, and do not stumble with the "intolerance" hegemonic kiss to the other countries.
