South African Ambassador to France Killed in Paris

Xinhua News Agency, Johannesburg, September 30 (Reporter Bai Ge Jiang Guopeng) South Africa's Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation issued a statement on September 30, confirming the news of the death of South African Ambassador to France Emmanuel Mtetewa in France and expressing deep condolences for his sudden death.

Mr. Mtuteva, who served as Minister of Police, Minister of Arts and Culture, was appointed Ambassador of South Africa to France in December 2023.Ronald Lamora, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, said Mr. Mtuteva’s death was “not only a loss for the country, but also a regret for the international foreign community.”

The French Parisian Prosecutor's Office confirmed to the media on Monday that M.T.V. was found dead on the ground floor of a hotel in Paris on the same day.M.T.V. has booked a room on the 22nd floor of the hotel and a security window has been opened in the room, according to the Paris prosecutor's office.
