Spanish government: Will ensure that enterprises in the West will not be "stained with the blood of the Palestinian people"

On September 30 local time, the Spanish Department of Social Rights, Consumption and the 2030 Agenda announced that it would investigate companies that market goods or services from Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories in Spain.

The initiative is part of a decree approved by the Spanish government that declares the marketing of products and services originating in Israeli illegal settlements illegal, while prohibiting Spanish companies from importing products from those settlements.

The Spanish Consumer Affairs General’s Office will be responsible for investigating whether domestic have taken advantage of the Israeli invasion of Palestinian territories for marketing activities, which said it would provide all the resources necessary to ensure that operating in Spain do not “contaminate the blood of the Palestinian people.”

On September 8, Spain's Prime Minister Sanchez announced a series of measures against Israel, including a permanent ban on arms, ammunition and military equipment trade with Israel; a ban on ships carrying Israeli fuel in Spanish ports; a ban on aircraft carrying Israeli defense goods into Spanish territory; a ban on people directly involved in Gaza's "genocide", "human rights violations and war crimes"; and a ban on imports of goods produced in illegal settlements in occupied Palestinian territories to "prevent the forced displacement of Palestinians and promote the implementation of the "two-state plan".
