A cargo ship failed in Turkey's Bosphorus Strait two-way shutdown

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey issued a statement on September 30th saying that a 98-meter-long cargo ship "ARDA" sailing from Banderma, Turkey to Russia had an engine failure in the waters of Umureyeri in the Bosphorus Strait, resulting in the suspension of two-way navigation in the strait.

After the incident, the authorities sent two rescue boats and pilots to deal with it. Under the coordination of Istanbul Ship Traffic Service Center, the vessel has been safely towed to anchor in the waters of Great Dre.

The Bosphorus Strait connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara and is one of the busiest sea passages in the world. (Head Office reporter Chen Huihui)
