The general debate of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly ended on 29 September at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Baerbock, President of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, said in his closing speech that in the past week, representatives of 189 Member States, including 124 heads of state and government, took the stage to speak. Some themes resonate strongly with all parties, the most important of which is peace and security. The message from representatives of various countries is clear: United Nations member states must do more to curb the wave of war and violence, including protecting and relief hungry civilians in the Gaza Strip, restoring peace to Ukraine, and protecting women and girls in Sudan. Representatives from various countries also discussed the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, the reform agenda of the United Nations, financial reform and other issues.

The United Nations General Assembly held a high-level conference on the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Women's Congress, a climate summit, a high-level conference on global dialogue on AI governance, and a high-level conference on the International Day for the Comprehensive Elimination of Nuclear Weapons.

On the 22nd, the General Assembly held a high-level meeting to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. All participants stressed that they should reaffirm their commitment to multilateralism and the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, and work together to strengthen the role of the United Nations. On the same day, the UN General Assembly also held a high-level international conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the "two-state solution". France and other countries announced their recognition of the Palestinian state, and the international community's call for the implementation of the "two-state solution" was further strengthened.

The General Assembly of the United Nations is the main deliberative, supervisory and review body of the United Nations, which is composed of all United Nations member states.
