Chinese Consulate General in Xinjiang held a symposium on the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's war against Japan and the world anti-fascist war in Xinjiang on September 28.

Former governor of the province of Xinjiang, Pian Shaan, and deputy chairman of the Japan-China Friendship Association,´¨½ò¡, attended and spoke with Chinese friends from all walks of life.In the venue, a photo exhibition was also held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the war.

Cui Weilei, Consul General of China in Niigata, delivered a speech, saying that since the beginning of this year, the Consulate General has held a series of commemorative activities in conjunction with relevant institutions and friendly people in the consular district. It is hoped that efforts will be made to guide all walks of life in the consular district and Japanese society to abide by the commitments of resuming diplomatic relations between China and Japan, establish a correct view of history, uphold basic morality and conscience, deeply reflect on historical guilt, consciously resist the wrong acts of beautifying and covering up the history of aggression, and push the country to truly take the road of peaceful development, go hand in hand with China, and build constructive and stable Sino-Japanese relations that meet the requirements of the new era.

The Vice President of the Japan-China Friendship Association,´¨½ò¡, said that Japan has made huge sacrifices to the people of Asia, including China, in the past, driven by the wrong thinking. This must be honestly reflected and the history as a lesson to build the future.´¨½ò¡ introduced that the friendship associations all over Japan are working according to the local conditions, and at present there are more than 350 pairs of friendly cities with China. In the future, we will continue to work with the friendship associations of China and the various friendship groups in Japan to promote the cause of friendly exchanges.

The symposium also held an award ceremony for the essay contest of "Taking History as a Mirror and Creating a Better Future".
