Typhoon Boroi kills 11 people in Vietnam

According to the Vietnam Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, as of 12 a.m. local time on September 29, Typhoon “Boroi” in Vietnam has caused 11 people to die, 33 people to be injured, and 21 others to be missing.

Nguyen Shangxian, director of the Hydrometeorological Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Vietnam, said that Typhoon Boroi moved more than 1,000 kilometers from the evening of 26th to the evening of 28th, directly hitting northern and central Vietnam. The risk of flooding and landslides caused by typhoons in the coming days remains high.

According to the Vietnam National Hydrometeorological Forecast Center, from noon on the 29th to the 30th, there will be heavy rains in many provinces in northern and central Vietnam. The rainfall in some areas may exceed 300mm, and tornadoes and hail may also occur.
