Chang'e 6 mission team awarded the 2025 International Space Federation World Space Award Group Award

On September 29, local time, the 76th International Astronautical Conference opened in Sydney. At the opening ceremony, China's Chang'e 6 mission team was awarded the 2025 World Space Awards Group Award awarded by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), which is considered one of the highest honors in the space field.

On May 3, 2024, the Chang'e 6 spacecraft was launched by Long March 5 long-range 8 rocket carrier at China's Vancouver space launch site. On June 25, the Chang'e 6 returner carried 1935.3 grams of moon back sample and successfully returned to Earth, successfully completing the first human moon back sampling feat.

The World Aerospace Award is the highest award in the aerospace field established by the International Astronautical Federation. It aims to commend individuals or teams who have made significant contributions to global aerospace science, technology, engineering management and other fields.
