The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran issued a statement on September 28 that Britain, France, Germany and the United States violated the agreement and refused to attempt to restore the ended UN sanctions against Iraq, Iran has sent a letter to the UN Secretary-General, clarifying Iran's position on the rejection of the four countries' practices.

The statement said that the United States launched the so-called ¡°rapid resumption of sanctions¡± mechanism under U.S. incitement and pressure, but these countries failed to fulfill their commitments under the Iranian nuclear agreement, and that the United States supported or implicitly permitted Israel and the United States to launch attacks on Iran¡¯s nuclear facilities under the nuclear agreement and regulated by the International Atomic Energy Agency, seriously violating international law and violating the essence and spirit of the Iranian nuclear agreement.

The statement criticized Britain, France, Germany and the United States for not creating the necessary space for diplomacy and dialogue, but instead chose to confront and create crises, and believed that new pressure levers could be obtained by resuming the sanctions resolution. Iran will resolutely safeguard national rights and interests, and make appropriate and resolute responses to any behavior that harms Iran's interests. Iran sent a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on 27th, clarifying its principled position and rejecting the relevant claims of Britain, France, Germany and the United States.

Iranian Foreign Minister Al-Araqi said in a statement on social media on the evening of the 27th that Britain's refusal to engage in diplomatic dialogue was a deliberate move of "force is justice" and that the Iranian people would succumb to bullying, saying that the termination of sanctions cannot be resumed and that any attempt to resume sanctions is ineffective.

The United Kingdom, France and Germany notified the United Nations Security Council on August 28 that they had launched a ¡°rapid resumption of sanctions¡± mechanism based on Iran¡¯s violation of the nuclear agreement.

The United Nations Security Council voted on a draft resolution 2231 to extend the 2015 comprehensive agreement on Iran's nuclear issue and approve the agreement. The draft resolution was not adopted. China's permanent deputy representative to the United Nations, Geng Xiaoping, made an explanatory speech after the vote and expressed deep regret for the outcome of the vote.
