On September 28, the Seychelles Election Commission announced that the country will hold a second round of voting because no candidate won more than half of the votes in the first round of the presidential election. The results of the first round of voting in Seychelles presidential election were announced on the 28th. Among the eight candidates, Patrick Heminier, the candidate of the United Seychelles Party, the main opposition party in Cyprus, won 48.8% of the votes, ranking first, while Ram Karawang, the current president and candidate of the Seychelles Democratic Alliance, won 46.4% of the votes, ranking second. The Serbian Election Commission announced that the second round of voting in the presidential election will be held from October 9th to 11th. The Seychelles Constitution stipulates that the term of office of the President is five years.In the first round of the presidential election, the candidate who gets more than half the vote will win directly, otherwise the candidate who gets the first two votes will enter the second round.
