Trump says he will send troops to Portland, U.S. Governor urges the public to “do not act”

In response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement on Monday that he will send troops to the city of Portland, Oregon, Oregon Governor Tina Kottke said that day:The security situation in the city of Portland was normal, and sending troops to the city was an abuse of power.

Courtke, who held a press conference on the same day, said she had had a "direct dialogue" with Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Noam. "I have shown very clearly that the city of Portland and the state of Oregon believe in the rule of law and have the ability to deal well with the needs of public security in our own place."Kurtke also called on the public to “not be deceived” and not engage in violence or destructive activities.

Kurtke said the state did not receive any information about the reasons or purposes of the military operation, and Trump did not provide a timetable for sending troops.

The mayor of Portland, Keith Wilson, said at a news conference that day: “We don’t need any intervention, this is not a military target.”

Trump announced on the 27th that he would send troops to the city of Portland, Oregon, in the northwest of the United States to counter "domestic terrorists".
