According to U.S. media reports, a shooting at a bar in Southport, North Carolina, caused at least 3 people to die and 8 people to be wounded.

The U.S. Broadcasting Company quoted a spokesman for the city of Shopsport as saying that a gunman shot a crowd inside the open-air bar from a fishing boat that night, after which the fishing boat escaped along the inland waters.

The local police are investigating.

In a statement on social media, officials in the city said they had received reports of shootings in the city, with no known number of dead and wounded.
