Located in Inner Mongolia and Shaanxi, the United Nations has recognized two new protected areas in China.

UNESCO issued a communique on the 27th, saying that it has newly identified 26 biosphere reserves, including Daqingshan Biosphere Reserve and Zhouzhi Biosphere Reserve in China. So far, the total number of protected areas in the World Biosphere Reserve Network has reached 785.

The Biosphere Reserve is located in the middle of the Inner Mongolia Mountains, with an area of 3,900 square kilometers, and is the region with the most abundant biodiversity and ecosystem diversity in the Mongolia Mountains, with approximately 1,200 species of higher plants, 300 species of vertebrates and 1,800 species of limbs.

The Biosphere Reserve is located in the south-northern boundary of the Qing Ling Mountains in Shaanxi Province, with an area of about 690 square kilometers, with a forest coverage rate of 96%, and has a wealth of animal and plant resources in the area, including rare species such as Qing Ling Great Panda, River Kinshaw monkey, and bulls.

According to reports, the newly recognized biosphere reserves are distributed in 21 countries, among which the biosphere reserves in Angola, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Iceland, Oman and Tajikistan were recognized for the first time, and Sao Tome and Principe became the first country to be recognized as a biosphere reserve throughout its territory.

The Man and the Biosphere Programme is a large-scale intergovernmental scientific program launched by UNESCO in 1971. The plan proposes to set up a biosphere reserve, aiming at combining people's life improvement, economic development, social progress and ecological environment protection in the reserve and surrounding areas, and finding a way that can not only protect natural resources and cultural resources, but also promote social and economic sustainable development.
