According to Reuters reports on September 26, U.S. military leaders deployed around the world have begun preparations for a trip to Virginia next week to meet with Defense Secretary Pete Heggers.
US military generals from all over the world met in Pattyco, Virginia on the 30th, which is rare for U.S. military leaders to meet.
Two U.S. officials reluctant to disclose their names said the discussion at the meeting would focus on the need to uphold the “Warrior’s Spirit” across the army, as Hertz said, while other officials said the meeting, which will last about an hour, could involve other areas.
One official said that given the fact that several senior officials will meet in the same place, the meeting could discuss some substantive issues, such as the government’s new defence strategy and the expected cuts in top military personnel — even though those are not officially on the agenda.
The event is expected to take place at Marine Corps University in Quantico, Virginia, officials told reporters. Some of the highest-ranking generals are expected to fly to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
The report also said that the United States has troops stationed all over the world, including in distant locations such as South Korea, Japan and the Middle East. These troops are commanded by two-, three-and four-star generals.
In almost every public speech, Hegseth talks about the "warrior spirit" and the need for a warrior mentality in the U.S. military.
Earlier this month, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order to rename the Department of Defense as the “Ministry of War.”
The report mentioned that Hegseth, a former host of Fox News Channel, reshaped the department at an alarming speed. He fired top generals, sought to implement Trump's national security agenda and repealed what he called discriminatory diversity initiatives. (Compiled/Feng Xue)
