He also established libraries, science halls, gymnasiums and education promotion departments. Tan Jiageng was born in Jimei Village, Xiamen City, Fujian in 1874. His family was poor. He traveled across the ocean at the age of 17, went out to do business, worked hard, and worked hard, and later became a rich man in Nanyang. He returned to China in the autumn of 1919 and devoted himself to running schools in his hometown. He successively opened primary schools, middle schools, and normal schools... collectively referred to as Jimei School.
