French national heroine Jeanne-Claude was burned to death

Jeanne (1412–1431), a French national hero, was born in the Eastern Leiden village on the northeastern French border with Lorraine (within the province of Flanders) a Catholic devout peasant.

In October 1428, British troops siege Orléans south of Paris and attempt to invade all of France. At this time the nation survives, the 16-year-old Jeanne decided to save the motherland, and after several efforts, she persuaded a commander to arrange for her to visit Prince Charles to Hynon and ask for her an army to rescue Orléans.

In April 1429, Giordano led 6,000 men into Orléans and entered Orléans on April 29.

The British troops who defeated the siege on May 8 reversed the battle scene, and the people called her the "Orléans girl".Judge was determined to recover Paris. Because of her deep hopes, it caused suspicions from Charles VII and the great aristocracy, and was not supported.

In May 1430, Giordano was captured by the Burgundy and sold to the British army. The church court sentenced him to death for heresy and witchcraft.

He was burned to death on 30 May 1431 at the Pillar of Fire in Louen.
