Yu Yue, a master of Confucian classics, passed away on February 5, 1907
On 118 years ago today, February 5, 1907 (December 23, 1906, the master of Confucian classics Yu Yue passed away. Yu Yue Xiang On February 5, 1907, Zhang Taiyan's teacher, Yu Yue, who had presided over the Jingjing Institute for 31 years, passed away. Yu Yue was born in 1821 in Deqing, Zhejiang Province, and was a scholar in Daoguang. The poem "Spring is still there when flowers fall, and the sky is fashionable and sunny" won the praise of Zeng Guofan, the censor officer. Later, he used "Spring in the Hall" as the general name of his poetry collection. Yu Yue served as an editor of the Hanlin Academy and a scholar and political officer in Henan. He was knowledgeable and wrote many books, among which "Qun Jing Ping Yi","Zhuzi Ping Yi","Ancient Books Doubtful Examples", etc., became representative works of the late Qianjia School. Yu Yue also attached great importance to the role of novels and operas in education. He once adapted Shi Yukun's "Three Heroes and Five Righteousness" into "Seven Heroes and Five Righteousness", which was very popular among the world and had to be parallel to the original book. Zhang Taiyan was deeply influenced by Yu Yue in his academic thoughts.
