Thirty-five years ago today, on February 11th, 1990 (January 16th, 1990 in the lunar calendar), Shanghai Literature Development Foundation was formally established, with Ba Jin as its president. On February 11th, 1990, the Shanghai Literature Development Foundation, proposed by Balao and two others, was established, with Ba Jin as its president. At that time, Ba Lao donated his 5 million yuan bonus from winning the "International Famous Cultural Person Award" in Japan to the foundation. The purpose of setting up the foundation is to make up for the gaps, and to help writers, especially those who are suffering in life, solve some problems through some practical work. In the past 15 years, the Foundation has carried out a lot of work around this direction.
