Today, eighty years ago, on February 2, 1945 (Calendar, December 20, 1944) the British and American Conference was held in Malta. The Malta Conference was a preparatory meeting for the Yalta Conference held in the late period of World War II. On February 2, 1945, the two British and American nations met in Malta, an island country in southern Europe and the central Mediterranean. The conference was attended by British Prime Minister Churchill, U.S. President Roosevelt, British Foreign Minister Aiden and U.S. Secretary of State Stevens News, as well as members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States and the United States. The meeting examined the report of the three-day meeting of the Joint Chiefs of Staff before the meeting, discussed the plans for the Allied forces to advance to the Rhine and cross the river, studied the future b
