On April 4, 1983, the Third World Social Economic Research Foundation and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences jointly hosted the Southern Conference in Beijing, officially entitled ¡°Southern Conference: Development Strategy, Negotiation and Cooperation Conference¡±. 100 politicians and renowned scholars from 26 countries attended the conference to discuss the Third World National Social Economic Development Strategy, Northern Dialogue and Southern Cooperation prospects and opportunities.
