Soviet troops advance to Leningrad and Novgorod.

At the end of August 1941, the atmosphere was devastated. by HitlerWith 32 infantry divisions, 4 tank divisions, 4 motorized divisions and 1 cavalry brigade assembled on the northern wing, equipped with 6,000 cannons, 4,500 shelling guns and more than 1,000 aircraft, a fierce offensive was launched against Leningrad, vowing to occupy Leningrad on September 1st.

On January 14, 1944, a Soviet army shifted from the landing ground of Oraninbaum to Ropshah to counter-attack. On January 15, another from Leningrad to Red Shell shifted to counter-attack. On January 20, the offensive army gathered in the region of Ropshah and destroyed the besieged German Petrograd-Strelina group. At the same time, the Soviet army shifted to the area of Novgorod on January 14, to the direction of Liuban on January 16, and liberated Novgorod on January 20. The Leningrad Defense Battle ended with victory on August 10, 1944.
