January 5, 1876 First Prime Minister of Germany after the Second World War
Today, 149 years ago, on 5 January 1876 (December 9, 1875) was born the first Prime Minister of Germany after the Second World War. Ardenne (1876–1967) was the first Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany (1949–1963). On 5 November 1876 was born in the Catholic family of Cologne, and died on 19 April 1967; in 1917 was Mayor of Cologne during the First World War; from 1920 he was a member of the Central Organization of the Prussian Provincial Assembly and in 1928 President. During the Nazi rule he was imprisoned twice. In 1946 he was elected President of the Christian Democratic Union. In 1946, when the United States, Britain and the United Kingdom occupied the three areas of law and established the federation, he took office as President of the Federal Assembly, formulating the Constitution for the establishment of
