Today, 101 years ago, on April 27, 1924 (March 24, 1924), the Doors Plan was submitted to the War Compensation Group. On April 27, 1924, the German government expressed its support for the proposed plan by a special group led by Charles-G-Doors of the United States to resolve the issue of compensation. In its proposal, the Doors Special Group asked Germany to ¡°do everything possible¡± to pay the compensation provided by the Treaty. It did not recommend foreign loans of $200 million to help Germany pay those debts. In a letter published in Paris, German officials said the proposal was ¡°a faster solution to the issue of compensation and a more practical basis.¡± In early April, France and Britain expressed their support for the plans proposed by Doors and his special group to the International Compensation Commission.
