Today, 100 years ago, on March 23, 1925 (February 29, 1925), Tennessee banned the teaching of evolution. Darwin is now accused in Tennessee. On March 23, 1925, Tennessee Governor Os-J-Pey signed a decree prohibiting schools from teaching evolution. He said: ¡°The Bible says that man was created by God. Any thought that man originated from other lower animal theories is a denial of the Bible¡¯s statements.¡± This decree stipulates that teaching any theories that violate the Bible¡¯s human origin in state schools or state universities is guilty. The decree says that it opposes the tendency to promote a so-called science and denies the Bible¡¯s violation of religious principles. Those who oppose the plan are challenging the decree, and they condemn this decree
