Emperor Nerva of the Roman Empire

and Nirvana

Nerva (35–98) was the first monarch of the Ancient Roman Empire (from 96–98) and the last non-Roman citizen born on the Italian peninsula. He was born in the old aristocratic class, a highly regarded monarch who was elected and appointed chief of the Roman Empire by the senate after his assassination.

Nirvana acknowledged as his successor a military general, the governor of Upper Germany, Marcus Dolpius Tula, and granted him the name of Caesar and the powers of the conservative officer. Thus, Tula became not only the heir of Nirvana, but also his co-ruler. Tula was a great commander, with extensive administrative experience, and behind him there was a powerful army of Upper Germans. Nirvana succeeded Tula as his son and effectively solved the difficult task of consolidating the new rule with military factors. This measure was very wise and appropriate, and later history proved that it not only chose the heir — Tula, but also established a good system — adoption of children.
