Today, 64 years ago, on January 31, 1961 (December 15, 1960), the Israeli spy collapsed the Israeli government. On January 31, 1961, despite the results of a special committee investigation which proved Pichas-Laon was innocent, Israeli Prime Minister Ben-Gurion refused to revoke his accusations of espionage against Laon and resigned today. Despite the Israeli inspectorate's efforts to hide, the case was still involved in a spy network operating in Cairo. Several of the members had been hanged by the Egyptians after exposure during Laon's defense ministry in 1954.
