During his tenure (July 12, 1730¨CFebruary 6, 1740), he was from the Corsini family, an experienced Roman Catholic administrative officer who was good at finance. He was 78 years old when he ascended to the throne, was weak and sick, and was blind in his eighty-year-olds and was very difficult to operate. Though he tried to re-expand the Catholic solidarity, firmly enforced the ban of the previous popes, continued to suppress the activities of the Jansenists, he was unable to stop the French claim to restrict the papal rights of Gollum into the Spanish Empire.

Clemens XII sent Francis to spread Catholicism in Ethiopia, Africa. With regard to the conflict in Asia¡¯s missionaries, especially in China and India, Clemens XII adhered to the position of the predecessor pope and continued to reiterate the prohibition to the extent that Catholic missionary work in China and India was difficult.

In 1738 Cremon XII issued a memorandum condemning the Communion and warning Catholics that all Christians who participated in the Communion would be excommunicated. The Communion originated in the Middle Ages, it had many Christian colours and was in fact a secret group aimed at preaching and implementing the secret mutual program, which was spread more rapidly when it expanded outside of England. Ten years later, after his death, Benedict XIV succeeded.
