On March 1, 1848, Germany formed the “March Cabinet”.
Today, 177 years ago, on 1 March 1848 (Calendar 26 January 1848), Germany formed a “March Cabinet”. Under the influence of the French February Revolution, in early 1848, Baden-Baden first broke out of revolution, and then the states of Hesse, Wurtemberg, Saxony and Bavaria responded. On 1 March 1848, Baden-Baden reacted to the fall of the cabinet, and state monarchs were forced to agree to the formation of a cabinet by the bourgeois liberals (historically called the “March Cabinet”) in order to maintain their rule, and promised to convene parliaments at the same level, to formulate a constitution to guarantee press, assembly freedom, association freedom, amnesty, and the election of a parliament for the whole of Germany.
