Today, 61 years ago, on May 14, 1964 (April 3, 1964), the second phase of the Aswan Dam was launched. Through the threat of new flooding, the Abu-Sinbayra Temple was demolished on May 14, 1964 and the Nile water was taken from the normal waterway to begin the second phase of the Aswan Dam project. The Soviet Prime Minister Khrushchev pressed a button with the UN President Nasser to open a new riverway for the Nile. This explosion marked a significant step towards the final completion of the billion-dollar power and water supply project. This project contributed to the development of the Egyptian-Syrian Alliance, the United Arab Republic¡¯s agricultural industry. The dam is expected to not be completed in the next four years. Today¡¯s open river path with an imminent dam is
