National Geographic Society Building The association was founded on January 13 of the same year, with the resolution of 33 initial founding members, with the aim of "promotion and dissemination of geographical knowledge", and after about two weeks of discussion, the association's organizational charter and operational plan was formally determined and officially started to operate. For more than a hundred years, the Society has sponsored more than 8,000 research and exploration projects, and encouraged people to protect the planet with excellent magazines, maps, books, films and interactive media products. A team of excellent scientists, explorers, photographers, television workers and authors, who have carried out the mission of the Society, traveled around the world and worked hard to win the prestigious Yellow Frame for the Society as an aspiring adventure and quality mark, seen in an increasing number of languages in every country in the world. Nine months after the founding, in October 1888, the Society published the first edition of the National Geographic Magazine (originally called National Geographic Magazine, but later simplified to National Geographic), a pioneer of geographical knowledge-related magazine products, and today has developed into an international publication with many languages. Since after several revisions, the cover of the National Geographic magazine began to use the yellow outline design, since then the "yellow box" has become the enterprise identification mark of the National Geographic magazine and related publications. In addition to publishing journals to promote geographical knowledge and information, the National Geographic Society has always been very keen to sponsor some international geographical exploration or investigation activities. In recent years, in order to further expand the advertising of information, it has started from the field of graphic books into multimedia, began to produce geographical knowledge-related films, with its exclusive cable TV channel National Geographic Channel. In addition, the National Geographic Society annually hosts a national geographical knowledge competition for fourth to eighth grade students (equivalent to the age of 10 to 14), called the National Geographic Bee, and with a very high level, while the national (U.S.) level champion can receive a scholarship of up to $25,000.
