British forces invade Hong Kong.

Hong Kong is located in the south-east of Zhejiang Cove, Guangdong Province, including the three parts of Hong Kong Island, Qingdao and the “New World”, with an area of 1,066 square kilometers. Since the Tang Dynasty, the Chinese government has sent troops to reside in Hong Kong and inspect at sea. From Song to Ming, the number of people in China who migrated to Hong Kong increased year by year.

At the beginning of the 18th century, Britain began to trade opium with China. In June 1840, the Qing government ordered the ban on opium, and Britain fiercely launched the First Opium War and attacked Guangzhou. On January 26, 1841, British troops were sent forced to occupy Hong Kong.

As early as 1833, the British invaders intended to invade the islands off the Chinese coast in order to invade China. In 1834, they first saw Hong Kong benefitting them strategically and commercially, and subsequently the invasion of the Chinese coastal islands became the most important target of the British invaders. For more than 50 years after the British army seized Hong Kong, the British government forced the Qing government to sign three inequal treaties on the Hong Kong issue, dominating the entire Hong Kong region.

On August 29, 1842, the British government and the Qing government signed the first inequality treaty in China's modern history, the Treaty of Nanjing, in which the third article stipulated the assignment of Hong Kong to the United Kingdom.

In 1856, Britain launched the Second Opium War, forcing the Qing Dynasty government to sign the Beijing Treaty on 24 October 1860, cutting the Chinese territory south of the border street of the Qing Peninsula to Britain.

On June 9, 1898, Britain took over China's defeat in the Mid-Japan Ahad War, and forced the Qing government to conclude the "Sino-British Exhibition of Hong Kong Border Site Special Article", leasing the Chinese territory located south of the Shenzhen River, north of the border street of the Nihon Peninsula and nearby islands, the so-called "New Frontier", to Britain, for a period of 99 years.

After the overthrow of the Qing Dynasty, no Chinese government has recognized the permanent sovereignty of the United Kingdom over Hong Kong. After the establishment of the People's Republic of China, China's government has repeatedly clarified its position on the Hong Kong issue, pointing out that Hong Kong is Chinese territory, and China is not bound by the uneven treaties signed by the British government with the Chinese government of the Qing Dynasty, and will regain sovereignty over the entire Hong Kong region when the conditions are matured. According to the 1984 joint statement of the two governments on the Hong Kong issue, China will regain sovereignty over Hong Kong on July 1, 1997.
