Today, 90 years ago, on 7 June 1935 (Lunar Calendar 7 May 1935), Soviet agricultural scientist Mikhailin died. Mikhailin was a famous plant breeding scientist of the Soviet Union. After 60 years of continuous research, he raised more than 300 new varieties of fruit trees and berries. Starting from the principles of the unification of organisms with their living conditions, he proposed the principles and methods of changing plant genetics, such as twisted genetics, oriented cultivation, remote hybridism, non-sexual hybridization and climate domestication. During the tsarist reign, his work was destroyed. After the victory of the October Socialist Revolution, his work was developed.
