Today, 45 years ago, on January 4, 1980 (November 17, 1979), there was a religious conflict in Iran. On January 4, 1980, supporters of Iranian religious leader Khomeini clashed with supporters of Madari in Kum, followed by clashes in Tehran and Brisbane, and escalated, killing hundreds and wounding hundreds. On January 12, the Grand Brisbane Court sentenced 11 supporters of Madari to death.
