Today, 69 years ago, on 19 June 1956 (Calendar 11 May 1956), IBM founder Watt died of a heart attack, aged 82. IBM decision maker Wattson died on 19 June 1956. Mas-J-Wattson, who developed the International Commercial Machinery Corporation (IBM) into the dominant electronic computer company in the world, died of a heart attack in New York, aged 82. Wattson was the general manager of the Computing-Table Making Company, then known as the Computing-Table Making Company, with 400 employees in 1914. He managed the company for 40 years and established a joint laboratory to develop new technology. While the International Commercial Machinery Company was not the first to move to electronic computers after the Second World War, it was successful in selling these machines, but quickly left all its competitors far behind China.
