George Arliss (1868-1946), British actor. His first great success performance on stage was the role of the same name in Disneyland (1911), and later he played the role in the film and won the Oscar in 1930. Alice was born in London and began performing there in 1887. After 1920, he appeared in many American films, playing the Rothschild Baron, the Bishop of Rothschild, and other historical figures. Years in Bloomberg (1927) and The Decade in the Shelf (1940) are his two autobiographies.

Alice claims to be the greatest actor of the 1920s and 1930s. He was the first British to win an Oscar, wearing glasses and loving to speak seriously. He is also a comedian, often acting with his wife, leaving many outstanding characters for the American cinema in the 1930s.
