On 2 May 2003 (Lunar Calendar 2 April 2003), a tropical storm killed 22,000 people in Burma. On the morning of 2 May 2003, a tropical storm formed by the Gulf of Bangladesh landed near the island of Haiki in the province of Illinois in Burma, then swept through the Delta of Burma, passing through the provinces of Illinois, Mumbai, Clan, Burma and Yangon. Early landing, the highest speed of the tropical storm exceeded 190 kilometers per hour. To date, official reports have claimed more than 22,000 deaths!
