Today, 76 years ago, on May 6th, 1949 (April 9th, Lunar Calendar), Riden had his first meeting with the Communist Party of China. On May 6th, 1949, the US Ambassador to China, Riden, met with Huang Huang, Chief Foreign Officer of the Nanjing Military Council of the Communist Party of China. On April 21st, the Liberation Army crossed the Yangtze River. At the time, the National Party¡¯s government agency had long moved to Guangzhou, and the U.S. Embassy remained in Nanjing as if it were to wait for the Communist Party of China.
