Today, 27 years ago, on 17 February 1998 (Calendar 21 January 1998), Sharif was re-elected Prime Minister of Pakistan. On 3 February 1998, a national election was held in Pakistan, where the Muslim League (Sahih) led by Navaz Sharif won 134 seats out of 217 seats in the National Assembly, winning parliamentary elections with an absolute advantage. On 17 February, the National Assembly officially elected Sharif as the new Prime Minister of Pakistan with 177 votes against 16. Sharif was then chaired as Prime Minister of the 13th elected government of Pakistan under the President of Lahore. This was Sharif's second appointment as Prime Minister. From 1990 to 1993, Sharif was Prime Minister of Pakistan.
